The Czech-Moravian Breeders' Association, a.s. (ČMSCH) is a service organization providing a wide range of services to livestock breeders in the Czech Republic. Its main activities include animal registration, laser descriptions of ear tags, standard-setting and methodological activities for breeding and milk yield control. For ČMSCH, we developed the igenetika.cz web application, which streamlines the process of processing cattle DNA samples, thereby significantly increasing the productivity of their laboratory.

50x acceleration of DNA processing
ČMSCH needed to simplify and automate the process of processing cattle DNA samples, which are crucial for verifying animal origins. The original manual process involved sending requests by mail, manually processing DNA samples, and comparing records using MS Excel, which was time-consuming and inefficient.
We developed a web application igenetika.cz, which allows breeders to submit orders for DNA analysis online. This application simplified and accelerated the application process and allowed laboratory technicians to plan more efficiently for sample processing. In addition to parentage verification, the application was expanded with additional features such as finding an unknown parent or detecting genetic traits.
Thanks to the development of the igenetika.cz application, the processes associated with verifying the origin of animals have been significantly streamlined and accelerated. It is now possible to verify hundreds of animals daily, which has significantly increased the efficiency of laboratory technicians' work, allowing them to focus more on professional activities instead of manually comparing records. At the same time, breeder satisfaction has increased due to faster processing of their requests and the provision of comprehensive services in genetic testing. The application also supports other ČMSCH activities and its results are integrated into other applications.
